    This is an exciting opportunity for a Corporate Solicitor to join a Top 60 firm in Southampton.

    The Team

    The firm’s Corporate and Commercial team work across all sectors on a variety of commercial agreements and corporate transactions. They advise UK and international clients on all aspects from structural changes or strategic alliances through to day-to-day business management, IP and data protection. Many of the team have come from large city firms and while the quality of work is comparable the culture and ethos within the team is friendly and collegiate.

    The Role

    They now have an opportunity for an Associate to work in the corporate team, assisting and advising in relation to all aspects of company law, private company mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions and MBOs and MBIs, AIM flotations, takeovers and other public company work, commercial lending and security, financing and refinancing of businesses, joint ventures and investor/shareholders’ agreements, articles of association and other constitutional documents, demergers, company reconstructions and reorganisations.

    The corporate team acts for acquirers, private equity and VCT funds, founders/sellers, management teams and funders. Historically, the team has been involved in the more prominent deals in the Solent and Thames Valley region. The role would suit a candidate relocating to the region, an ambitious practitioner looking to move laterally from a national/large regional firm or an able candidate looking to work for a larger firm doing larger transactions.

    The Candidate

    Some experience of commercial work may be beneficial (but is not mandatory) including contracts and terms and conditions for the supply of goods and services, online trading terms and conditions, consultancy agreements, intellectual property, data protection, privacy, distribution agreements, agency agreements, contractual joint ventures, partnership and LLP law. The company commercial group advises on a wide range of commercial contracts and related regulatory issues.
