The Opportunity
An international law firm is seeking an Associate to join its Finance & Financial Regulation team in London. The role covers a broad range of finance transactions, with a particular focus on renewable energy financing.

The Team
The London-based Finance & Financial Regulation team comprises specialist lawyers with expertise in areas such as acquisition finance, financial regulation (including electronic payments), Islamic finance, project finance, real estate finance, restructuring and insolvency, and venture debt finance. The team’s deep sector knowledge in sport, renewables, and technology positions them well to advise on complex financing matters in these industries.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will advise financial institutions, including banks, development banks, funds, and alternative lenders - as well as borrowers on a diverse range of lending matters. These will include:
- Bilateral bank lending
- Acquisition finance
- Real estate finance
- Project finance, with emphasis on renewable energy projects
- Cross-border financings, particularly in emerging markets (North Africa and CEE/SEE jurisdictions)
- Venture debt
- Asset finance
About You
- The ideal candidate will be a technically strong banking lawyer with the ability to apply their legal expertise in a practical and commercially aware manner.
Essential Requirements:
- Post-qualification experience in banking/finance, ideally from a leading firm.
- Experience managing transactions within a comparable environment.
- Flexibility to work across a broad range of debt transactions.
- Ability to manage complex matters and maintain strong client relationships.
- Strong knowledge of key areas of law and the ability to deliver clear, precise, and practical advice.

Additional Information
While the core responsibilities are outlined above, the role may require additional duties to support the smooth running of the department. Some work outside regular hours (9:30 am – 5:30 pm) may be required.
