The firm provides specialist legal advice to a diverse client base, combining technical expertise with commercial insight to support clients throughout the lifecycle of their construction projects. Working closely with colleagues across real estate, corporate, tax and banking, the team delivers a joined-up approach to complex transactions, procurement strategies and construction risk management.

This is an excellent opportunity for a construction lawyer to work on high-quality matters within a collaborative environment, advising on significant development projects and helping clients navigate an evolving regulatory landscape, including building safety and remediation.

The Role

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of construction documentation, including JCT contracts, building contracts, professional appointments, collateral warranties, bonds and parent company guarantees.
  • Advising developers, investors, landlords, tenants and other stakeholders on construction procurement strategies and contractual risk allocation.
  • Supporting residential, commercial and mixed-use development projects from initial planning and procurement through to completion.
  • Advising on building safety legislation and regulatory compliance, including matters arising under the Building Safety Act 2022.
  • Assisting clients with cladding remediation, fire safety issues, Building Safety Fund and Cladding Safety Scheme projects, and associated remediation agreements.
  • Identifying and managing construction-related risks, with a focus on practical solutions and early dispute avoidance.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across real estate, corporate, tax and banking to support wider commercial transactions and development projects.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships, providing commercially focused advice and contributing to the continued growth of the construction practice.
  • Supporting junior colleagues and contributing to the development of the wider team.

The Ideal Candidate

  • An experienced Construction Solicitor with a strong background in non-contentious construction law.
  • Excellent experience drafting and negotiating construction contracts, including JCT documentation, collateral warranties and professional appointments.
  • A sound understanding of procurement strategies, construction risk management and development projects.
  • Experience advising on building safety legislation, remediation matters and associated regulatory requirements would be advantageous.
  • Commercially astute, with the ability to provide clear, practical advice tailored to clients' objectives.
  • A confident communicator who can develop lasting relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Collaborative and proactive, with the ability to manage complex matters independently while contributing to a supportive team environment.

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to join a Leading Law Firm with a long-established reputation for combining legal expertise with commercial understanding and a personal approach to client service.

The successful candidate will benefit from exposure to a varied portfolio of construction matters, close collaboration with complementary practice areas and the opportunity to contribute to the development of a specialist team.

The firm values professional development, individual contribution and a collaborative working culture, offering an environment where experienced lawyers can take ownership of their work, strengthen client relationships and continue to develop their expertise.
