Hunters Legal is working with a leading international law firm to appoint a Contentious Trusts & Private Wealth Disputes Associate into its expanding London-based Private Wealth Disputes practice.
This opportunity sits within a highly regarded team advising ultra-high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurial families, trustees, family offices, and private wealth institutions on complex and high-value disputes, many of which involve cross-border elements and multi-jurisdictional considerations.
The team has developed a strong reputation within the private wealth market and is recognised for handling sophisticated international trust and estate disputes, particularly across Asia, the Middle East, and other global private capital markets.
The successful candidate will join a collaborative and fast-growing practice with strong partner access, high levels of responsibility, and exposure to significant and technically challenging matters from an early stage.
The Role
The position will involve advising on a broad range of contentious private wealth matters, including:
- Trust and estate disputes
- Breach of fiduciary duty claims
- Trustee and beneficiary disputes
- Cross-border succession and inheritance matters
- Tax-related private wealth disputes
- Court of Protection and capacity-related matters
- High Court litigation involving private wealth structures and assets
The successful individual will work closely with partners and senior lawyers on complex international matters while also taking ownership of day-to-day case management and client interaction.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include:
- Managing contentious private wealth matters from inception through to resolution.
- Assisting with the strategic direction of complex disputes.
- Drafting clear and technically accurate legal advice and court documentation.
- Conducting detailed legal analysis and factual investigations.
- Liaising directly with clients, Counsel, experts, and overseas advisers.
- Supporting trial preparation, disclosure exercises, and evidential reviews.
- Delegating work effectively to trainees and junior team members.
- Conducting legal research across trust, succession, and private client disputes.
- Contributing to articles, legal updates, and thought leadership initiatives.
- Supporting business development and profile-raising activities within the private wealth sector.
- Building strong internal and external professional relationships across the firm’s international network.
Candidate Profile
Suitable candidates are likely to demonstrate:
- Qualification as a solicitor in England & Wales.
- Experience gained within a recognised disputes or private wealth disputes practice.
- Strong technical knowledge of contentious trusts and private wealth litigation.
- Excellent drafting, analytical, and organisational skills.
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to client service.
- The ability to manage competing priorities within a fast-paced environment.
