Employment Senior Associate 

A long-established and respected law firm is seeking an experienced and ambitious employment lawyer to join its growing practice. The team works with clients across a broad range of sectors, both in the UK and internationally, regularly advising senior executives, directors, founders, entrepreneurs, investment professionals, and individuals in sport. It also supports employers of all sizes, including those without in-house HR teams, on the full spectrum of employment law matters.

The successful candidate will join a well-recognised partner in the employment field, contributing to high-profile and complex work while playing a key role in the growth and development of the practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a diverse caseload of contentious and non-contentious employment matters.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate employment documentation, including contracts and settlement agreements.
  • Advise clients on issues such as:
    • Employment contracts, grievances, dismissals, and subject access requests.
    • Business transfers, outsourcing, TUPE, redundancy, and termination processes.
    • Employment disputes in tribunals and the High Court.
    • Hiring and workforce changes.
  • Work alongside overseas lawyers and counsel on cross-border matters.
  • Keep up to date with developments in employment law and share insights within the team.
  • Support business development activities to raise the profile of the employment practice.
  • Mentor and supervise junior colleagues where appropriate, providing guidance on strategy and case management.

Experience and Skills Required

  • Experience in employment law.
  • Proven ability to manage a varied caseload of complex matters.
  • Strong skills in providing pragmatic, commercially focused, and risk-based advice.
  • Excellent client relationship skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work with initiative.
  • Business development experience is desirable.
  • Previous mentoring or supervision experience is advantageous.
