Overview

Hunters Legal is working with a leading London media and entertainment law firm is seeking to recruit an Associate for its Divorce and Family practice. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing and highly regarded team advising high-net-worth individuals and clients connected to the creative, entertainment and wider commercial sectors.

The successful candidate will be confident in managing a varied caseload, combining strong technical ability with excellent client care and a calm, empathetic approach to sensitive matters. The role involves regular direct client contact and requires a professional, composed manner.

Key Responsibilities

The Associate will be responsible for:

  • Advising on a broad range of family law matters, including divorce, financial remedy and private children proceedings
  • Running smaller cases independently from instruction through to conclusion
  • Assisting senior lawyers and partners on complex, high-value matters, including multi-jurisdiction financial remedy proceedings and children disputes
  • Drafting a wide range of family law documentation, including court applications, financial disclosure documents and settlement agreements
  • Managing active caseloads with competing deadlines and court timetables
  • Engaging directly with clients, providing clear, empathetic and practical legal advice
  • Supporting the wider development of the family practice through client relationship building and matter generation

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience gained within a recognised and well-established family law team.
  • Strong academic background and excellent technical legal ability.
  • Demonstrable experience handling a varied family law caseload.
  • Exposure to complex financial remedy and/or children proceedings (including cross-border elements, ideally).
