International Private Client Associate/Senior Associate - Leading London Firm
Overview
Hunters Legal is working with a Leading London Firm to recruit an Associate into its highly regarded Private Client International team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a market-leading private client practice advising high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth international individuals, families and family offices on complex cross-border wealth and succession planning matters.
The wider Private Client group is one of the most established and respected in the City and comprises specialist teams across private client advisory, disputes, family, art & luxury assets and residential property. The firm is recognised in the legal directories and is known for delivering sophisticated advice to an international client base with complex personal, tax and succession planning requirements.
The successful candidate will join a collaborative and growing team working closely with colleagues across the wider private client practice to deliver strategic and commercially focused advice to international clients across multiple jurisdictions.
The Role
The role will involve advising international private clients, both UK resident and non-UK resident, on a broad range of private wealth and succession planning matters, including:
- International wealth structuring.
- Establishment and restructuring of trusts and wealth-holding entities.
- Cross-border succession and estate planning.
- Drafting Wills and trust documentation.
- UK tax and legal advice for internationally mobile clients.
- Advising clients moving to or leaving the UK.
- Acquisition and disposal of UK-based assets.
- Coordinating with international advisers including lawyers, accountants, trustees and family offices.
The role offers early responsibility and direct exposure to sophisticated international private client work, with strong support from an experienced and highly regarded team.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Advising international private clients on cross-border wealth and succession planning matters.
- Drafting Wills, trust deeds and related documentation.
- Managing and coordinating complex structuring and restructuring projects.
- Liaising with international advisers and professional intermediaries.
- Working closely with colleagues across the wider private client and disputes teams.
- Acting as a day-to-day contact for clients on ongoing matters.
- Supporting business development initiatives and maintaining strong client relationships.
Candidate Requirements
The successful candidate is likely to have:
- Strong experience gained within a recognised international or cross-border private client practice.
- Experience advising high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth international clients.
- Qualification as a Solicitor in England & Wales.
- Strong technical understanding of private client and succession planning matters.
- Excellent drafting, analytical and organisational skills.
- Strong communication and client relationship management abilities.
- A commercial and solutions-focused approach.
- A strong academic background.
- STEP qualification, or a willingness to undertake STEP studies, would be advantageous.
