Hunters Legal is working with a leading South East Legal 100 firm to recruit a Solicitor for their Personal Injury & Clinical Negligence department, based in Gatwick. This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor with 2+ ' PQE to join a supportive and collaborative team working on a diverse caseload of injury and negligence matters.

Term: Permanent
Working hours: Full-time (9.15 – 5.15)

The Department
The Personal Injury & Clinical Negligence Group supports clients through complex injury and negligence claims including road traffic collisions, employer and public liability, occupier liability, misdiagnosis, and failure-to-treat cases. The successful candidate will work within a team of experienced solicitors handling a mix of cases and supporting larger matters.
Key Responsibilities
Legal & Case Management
- Handle a mix of personal injury and clinical negligence cases under supervision.
- Assist senior fee earners on higher-value or complex matters.
- Maintain up-to-date legal knowledge, especially in areas relevant to personal injury and clinical negligence law.
- Apply understanding of key legislation including CPR, LASPO, and relevant protocols.
Financial Management
- Achieve personal billing and contribution targets.
- Ensure all time recording, file openings/closures, billing, and data entry are kept up to date.
- Use budgeting tools to scope work and manage delivery within time and cost expectations.
Client Service
- Deliver a consistently high standard of client care.
- Build long-term client relationships and enhance repeat business and referrals.
- Clearly communicate technical legal information in a practical and accessible manner.
Team & Development
- Contribute actively to team meetings and performance reviews.
- Attend internal and external training to strengthen expertise.
- Encourage open communication to identify and resolve issues within the group.
- Promote the firm’s values and strategy within daily work.
Business Development & Compliance
- Participate in BD initiatives including content creation and seminar attendance.
- Maintain compliance with firm-wide policies including AML, FSMA, GDPR, and risk management procedures.
- Regularly review team workloads and ongoing matters to manage group efficiency.
Required Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in Personal Injury and/or Clinical Negligence work, or demonstrable interest and capability in this area.
- Knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules and relevant case law.
- Strong IT skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, digital dictation, iManage, Aderant).
- Effective time management and prioritisation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and support senior colleagues.
- Strong drafting skills and high attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive client interactions.
- Commercial awareness and willingness to support business development initiatives.
