The Firm
The firm is recognised as a Legal 500 Leading Firm, with numerous teams ranked in the 2026 directory, including several achieving Top Tier status. It is also recognised by Chambers & Partners, with multiple teams ranked in the 2026 guide, including four Band One teams.
The firm was also named Regional Law Firm of the Year at the Chambers UK Awards 2025.
With more than 400 people across offices in London and the surrounding region, the firm provides a comprehensive range of legal advice to businesses and individuals.

The work includes:
- Business distress and pre-insolvency advice.
- Formal insolvency processes.
- Insolvency transactions and asset sales and purchases.
- Security enforcement and restructuring.
- Receiverships and bankruptcy.
- Wrongful and fraudulent trading claims.
- Misfeasance proceedings.

The successful Partner will join a team currently comprising two Partners and a dedicated Associate, with additional support from the wider Dispute Resolution team where required.
The R&I team also works closely with Corporate, Real Estate, Employment, Dispute Resolution and Private Client colleagues to provide clients with joined-up advice across their wider legal requirements.
The Role
The successful candidate will play a central role in shaping and developing the practice, with responsibility for both high-quality technical work and the commercial growth of the team.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Working with the Department Head and existing R&I Partners to develop the practice and its strategic direction.
- Generating new R&I instructions and developing relationships with lenders, officeholders, accountants and other professional referrers.
- Building and managing key client relationships and acting as a trusted adviser on complex R&I matters.
- Developing the team's profile across the London, South-East and regional markets.
- Supervising, mentoring and developing junior lawyers and supporting their technical and career progression.
- Managing a personal caseload alongside agreed financial and fee targets.
- Identifying cross-selling opportunities across the wider firm.
- Representing the firm at seminars, conferences and business development events.
- Contributing to wider firm initiatives and strategic commercial activity.
- Maintaining high standards of client care, technical excellence and risk management.
The Candidate
The firm is looking for a senior R&I lawyer who is commercially minded, collaborative and motivated by the opportunity to build and develop a practice, rather than simply maintain an existing caseload.
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Qualification as a solicitor with substantial experience in Restructuring & Insolvency.
- A strong track record across corporate and personal insolvency matters, with experience spanning contentious, transactional and/or advisory work.
- An established client base and/or the ability to generate a meaningful personal following.
- Strong commercial judgement and a pragmatic approach to advice and negotiations.
- An established network of professional contacts, particularly across lenders, officeholders and other referrers.
- Demonstrable business development and client relationship management skills.
- Experience leading, delegating and developing other lawyers.
- Strong technical knowledge of relevant insolvency and restructuring legislation and procedure.
- Experience of contentious insolvency proceedings, including court applications, director disqualification proceedings and Insolvency Act claims.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach.
Experience of restructuring plans, debt restructuring, distressed M&A and/or pre-pack administrations would also be advantageous.
Recognition in Chambers or Legal 500 and previous management or leadership experience would be welcomed.
