Our client is a top 40 UK law firm with turnover of in excess of £100m. They have an exciting opportunity for a junior corporate solicitor to join their successful and rapidly growing team.

The firm has a strong international practice, particularly in the Middle East, with offices in Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Dubai and Oman. It is especially well-known for its work in real estate, construction, energy and infrastructure, and hotel and leisure, as well as its corporate expertise. The firm’s office in Malaysia supports a growing Far East client base.

The Team

The dynamic, friendly and high-ranked corporate department offers its clients access to a full range of corporate legal services, including private company mergers and acquisitions, private equity, investments, re-organisations, joint ventures, capital restructuring, equity capital markets, fundraisings and corporate governance.

Working as part of a high-performing national team, the successful candidate will advise clients, operating in a variety of sectors on a diverse range of corporate matters, but with a main focus on private company M&A and private equity.

The corporate department is fully supported by specialists in their other departments, including banking, tax, employment, property, and intellectual property.

The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to join their successful and rapidly growing team. Working closely with their whole national team, the successful applicant will have exposure to high calibre corporate work and early responsibility against a backdrop of excellent supervision and training.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Advising on private company acquisitions and disposals – including both share and business/asset deals
• Advising on private equity transactions – including investment agreements acting for both private equity funds and management
• Advising on private company reorganisations
• Setting up corporate structures, and preparing shareholders agreements/investment agreements
• Advising on joint ventures for both private companies and LLPs,
• Advising on general corporate matters including share buy-backs, distributions and corporate governance
• Advising on ad hoc day-to-day corporate queries from our clients
• Initiating, building and maintaining effective client relationships
• Ensuring files are managed in compliance with Lexcel procedures
• Pro-active participation in department and firm-wide marketing initiatives

The Candidate

To be successful you must be a qualified Solicitor with 0-3 years relevant experience and have direct relevant post-qualification experience gained at a recognised and busy corporate practice.

You will have excellent technical skills and innovative approach, drive, enthusiasm and vision, flexibility and can-do approach, excellent communication skills with a collaborative approach, and commercial awareness with a strong client focus.
