The Role

This opportunity is suited to a Corporate solicitor who has solid experience across a broad range of corporate matters. A high level of technical expertise is essential, along with a proven track record in building and maintaining strong client relationships, particularly with dynamic and fast-paced businesses. Approximately 30% of the M&A workload has an international element, so cross-border experience is an advantage. Strong negotiation skills and commercial acumen are equally important.

The role will involve managing an independent caseload while also working closely with senior colleagues on significant transactions. The successful candidate will be adaptable, capable of handling multiple and competing deadlines, and willing to work outside standard hours when required. A meticulous eye for detail and the ability to deliver accurate, reliable work in line with the organisation’s quality and risk management standards are vital. Timely and accurate billing, along with consistent time recording, will be expected.

Beyond fee-earning, the position offers scope for active involvement in business development and marketing initiatives. The ideal candidate will take a proactive approach to generating work from existing clients, exploring new business opportunities, and promoting the organisation both professionally and personally. Strong IT skills, organisational efficiency, and the flexibility to travel to other offices or client locations when necessary, are also key requirements.
