The Department

Real estate is central to the firm's work with leading individuals, families, and investment entities. With a 300-year history of property law expertise, the team continues to advise clients whose relationships date back to the firm’s origins. While based in London, the department has significant experience acting for UK and international investors and developers across a broad array of sectors including residential, offices, hotel and leisure, mixed-use, industrial, urban estates, and agriculture.

The client base includes private developers, asset managers, major estate owners, prominent hotel operators, and high-net-worth investors from regions including the US, Middle East, Asia, and Europe.

Summary of Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified solicitor to join the London-based Commercial Property team. This role offers the chance to work across a diverse caseload and client base, supporting complex and high-value transactions.

The role involves handling a wide range of commercial property matters such as landlord and tenant work, asset management, development schemes, investment sales and acquisitions, and real estate aspects of property finance for both borrowers and lenders. Clients include private investors and developers, family offices, urban estates, financial institutions, and occupiers.

Responsibilities

  • Drafting and negotiating property documentation.
  • Supporting partners on major transactions, including title and lease reviews.
  • Running own caseload of transactions and advising on general landlord and tenant matters.
  • Participating in business development efforts and building a professional network.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Strong academic background with a minimum 2:1 degree (or equivalent).
  • Solid experience in landlord and tenant work and asset management.
  • Exposure to development projects and investment transactions is beneficial.
  • Essential experience in title and lease reporting.
  • Real estate finance experience is advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience should be from a recognised City or respected regional firm.
  • Strong commercial awareness and analytical ability.
  • Excellent time management and attention to detail.
  • Confident working with high-profile clients.
  • Self-starter with strong initiative and collaborative approach.
  • Proficient technical and drafting skills.
  • Ability to manage transactions proactively and meet tight deadlines.
