Private Client Solicitor (1–3 PQE) - International Law Firm
Hunters Legal is working alongside an International Firm with a highly regarded Private Client Group (Legal 500 and Chambers ranked, and a STEP Employer Platinum Partner) in their search for Solicitor (1–3 PQE) to join its growing team. The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining the Group’s exceptional standards of client service and professional excellence.
The Opportunity
The Private Client Group comprises six well-established teams: Onshore, Offshore (International), Disputes, Art & Luxury, Family, and Residential Property. The Group advises a wide range of clients including HNW and UHNW individuals, family offices, entrepreneurs, owners of landed estates, charitable trustees, and executors. With one of the longest-standing Private Client practices in the City, the firm is recognised for its enduring client relationships and reputation for trust and quality.
This position sits primarily within the Onshore team, with regular collaboration across the Offshore and Disputes teams. The role involves advising on a broad range of matters including high-value tax and estate planning for individuals and trustees, UK and cross-border estate administration, elderly and vulnerable client matters, and philanthropy. The successful candidate will receive dedicated mentorship and training from senior practitioners, as well as opportunities for direct client contact and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities
Advising on a range of private client matters, including:
- Drafting wills and related succession planning advice;
- Providing UK tax and estate planning advice, particularly in relation to Inheritance Tax and Capital Gains Tax;
- Administering UK and cross-border estates under supervision;
- Drafting Lasting Powers of Attorney;
- Assisting with the creation and administration of trusts;
- Advising trustees and beneficiaries on both contentious and non-contentious matters;
- Supporting the Disputes team on probate claims, including Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 claims, undue influence, and proprietary estoppel;
- Assisting the Offshore team in providing legal and tax advice to international private clients;
- Acting as day-to-day contact for clients; and
- Contributing to business development initiatives and promoting the team’s services.
Key Skills and Qualifications
- Experience within a recognised private client practice, ideally advising HNW or UHNW clients;
- Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales;
- STEP qualification (or willingness to undertake it);
- Strong understanding of private client law and its commercial implications;
- Excellent client relationship and business development abilities;
- Strong academic background and analytical skills; and
- High levels of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail.
